It’s not often that I go out late at night, but when my friends said they were going to an arcade bar, it sounded like fun and I decided to tag along. Thankfully I had had a nap earlier in the afternoon, so I wasn’t very tired when we were leaving at 10pm.
Place #45: Tilt Arcade Bar, 824 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON M6J 1V3
One of the big draws was the $5 fee to get in and then you could play unlimited games. It’s not a very big place and we had to wait outside before we could get in since it was so crowded. They have a couple of booths set up with modern gaming systems with various Super Mario games, but the majority of games are classic arcade games. Lots and lots of pinball machines, and a lot of games that I’ve seen or vaguely recognize. I’ve always been a fan of pinball. There was one time where all 4 of us were playing pinball machines all in a row which was a bit surprising considering how busy it was. (We had been claiming a game and then rotating through the 4 of us).
At one point, we were able to snag the foosball table. I am apparently a much better foosball player than I thought. (Although now that I think about it, I played at lot at youth group). Emma and I together are an undefeated foosball team 🙂
Thankfully, Saturday night was also the end of daylight savings time so going to bed at 1:30am wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been.
Other new places this week:
- Aveda Hair Salon, for a long overdue haircut. It’s a hair stylist school, so the appointments take longer since the students are learning, but it’s only $25 to get your hair cut!
